AGARTALA, June 3 (TIWN): An industrial meeting which is scheduled to be held in Tripura on June 4, with the joint Initiative between Tripura Govt. and The Association Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) may bring rapid development for the state.

The programme will be held under with the heading of “Invest-Tripura’.

The investors who are interested to invest for Tripura had invested earlier in many places, including Assam, WB, Kerala----but it will be for the first time for Tripura that the company is coming to invest for the state.

Talking to Education Minsiter Tapan Chakraborty over phone on Thursday, he said that this will be basically an industrial meeting and discussion on the future investments will be held.

However, he further said to contact Industry Dept. of Tripura for and mentioned that he is out of state and returning on the way to state, which show how much interested the IT minister in development of the state.

It’s worthy to mention here, Mr Sunil Kanoria, (ASSOCHAM president) in May 19, after the election results told media that the Modi Govt. will be able to strengthen economic development in North East too, BJP’s winning and ofcourse in WB Trinamool Congress’s arrival, as Mamata Banrjee always has been in support of investment for state. Assocham president also said  WB CM also sent out a clear signal that there is no alternative to the people-centric policies.

Now question remains how far support ASSOCHAM will get support from Tripura to invest for here?

After the failure of Tripura Govt. to bring industrial development via JICA projects and self help groups, this time Tripura CM Manik Sarkar is going to have industrial-meeting with Kokata-based business investors.

The programme will be held on June 4 at Pragna Bhawan.

But question remains, will CM be able to utilize the meeting? Due to Govt.’s apathy many industries are almost dying here and Govt yet to develop steady industrial growth. As a result, unemployed rates are increasing here day by day. However, Tripura has been burdened with 6.92 lakhs of unemployed.

Moreover, IT Minister here lacks vision and interest in industrial  growth. Whereas Minister Tapan Chakraborty is holding 2 departments in cabinet as 1. the Industries & Commerce (including IT), which is related to the career of Educated people and also the 2. Education Dept., but it seems that the Minister is somehow failing to maintain the balance between the two fields, resulting into a crisis in the state.
