AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): Finally the countdown begins for the commencement of the BG express train as NFR GM HK Jaggi has set the deadline that if Union railway minister Suresh Prabhu is available on time the formal inauguration will be done by the mid of June. After a long period finally the laying and constructing of Broad Gauge (BG) Railway tracks of Mega Block conversion from Badarpur to Agartala has already been completed. Adding another milestone in the history of Tripura, the land-locked state has finally made its entry in the BG Railway map of the country.Once the BG express train service begins in the state it will bring relief from the crippled NH 44 which has recently taken bad shape due to the moderate rainfall over past few days in the state. Once the train service begins in the state on a regular basis it is expected that the load will come down on NH 44 and people will start boarding train service. Commencement of BG train in Tripura on regular basis to stabilise the flow of goods into the state and will also meet an end to the rise in price of the goods.It is also expected that BG express train will also drop down the flight fare and people will get tickets in moderate rates.

Frequent sharp hikes in airfares, especially during peak travel times and when someone has to buy a ticket on short notice to travel for a n emergency hits the common people of the State.

If such trains are operated on a regular basis by the NFR, the availability of food grains, transport fuels, essentials and other commodities would increase and prices would be reasonable.
