Maximum temperature on a rise, heat waves strikes state

AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): According to the latest weather update by Meterological department located at Agartala airport indicates that the heat wave like conditions prevailing in Tripura could get worse as the maximum temperature berth is on a rise and is strengthen its grip over major parts of Tripura during the next two days.

MET official predicted from the forecast that the maximum temperature to rise more in the state in the coming days. He further said that at present the maximum temperature stands at 36.2 degree Celsius on Tuesday giving a tough time to the livelihood of the common people.

The scorching heat accompanied by power outages lasting for many hours a day in the state has made the lives of the residents miserable.

With the summer season hits the state, people are experiencing bad weather with high temperature and is in grip of heat waves.

Besides, frequent power cuts for long stretches are only adding to the woes of the residents who have to do with an acute shortage of drinking water as rivers, ponds and wells have gone dry.

However, the hot surface wind along with the frequent power cut in the state has added woes on the daily life of the state.

Heat waves and sultry weather scare vehicle riders and pedestrians, and it resulted in roads wearing a deserted look during the day. Cases of sun stroke are on reports due to massive scorching heat hits the state.

On the other hand, people residing in the interior parts of the state mainly for the women it has become a daily routine for water under the scorching sun. As many villages in the state are hit with dry and parched.

The scenes of people walking in long lines with vessels on their heads are common.

It has been a week that the people of Tripura are massively hit with the rising temperature in this summer.
