AGARTALA, May 16 (TIWN) : No respite in sight for the continuous load-shedding with the prevailing scorching heat. Life has already become intolerable in Tripura due to excessive heat, but surprisingly Power Minister Manik Dey or TSECL MD Shyamal Roy continue to claim that no shortage of power across Tripura. Being a 'SMART"city of CPI-M party since two decades, Agartala has no green cover across the city, no systematic plantation which has made environment suffocating already. Due to apathy of Govt machinery and massive destruction of trees, power situation has turned life unbearable.Whereas AMC officials boosting Agartala city to be the smart city, but in reality this city is reeling under load-shedding and suffering from power break-downs continuously.Power disruption not only hampering daily lives but affecting the basic necessities like water supply to smooth functioning of industries. In ADC areas and rural Tripura the scenario is pathetic. Daily power cut of at least for 10 hours in average hampering irrigation in agricultural fields. Due to massive dues over Rs 400 crores incurred by TSECL to various power plants NEEPCO to OTPC, power situation remain grim in state.

Reportedly, in many areas common people are suffering badly especially after evening, and the students of those places are frequently facing from load-shedding problems due to the poor connections of electrical lines.

Hospitals, offices, banks and internet is badly suffering from this frequent power cut.
