AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): The reason behind such quick success into the 5 lakh loot case is the use of technology and synergy between district police which has led to this quick success in tracing the culprits in less than 48 hours of the incident.Talking to TIWN correspondent on Sunday, West SP Abhijit Saptarshi said that with the use of latest technology, proper planning and synergy between the districts police has made it successful trace the accused in such less period of time in the state.He further said that with the help of modern technology including the CCTV footage of the Axis bank has helped the department in identifying the culprit and accordingly co-operation and collaboration from the police team under the initiative of Sipahijala District SP Pradip Dey has made this task successful in tracing the culprit in less than 48 hours.The gang who have executed this mission is solely belonging from Orissa and the police has already busted the gang and now they are targeting to nab the other absconding cussed into the accused, added west SP.

West SP Abhijit Saptarshi further said that  so far a total of Rs 3lakh 20 thosand,2 bikes, 11 mobile phones, 1tablet are recovered from the gang and  total of 2 men and 8 women are arrested into the case and two more are yet absconding.

It is now expected that Police under the leadership of new SP Abhijit Saptarshi will further be able to crack several other cases like ‘ATM robberies' by inter-state gangs.

According to police they have traced the CCTV footage and have suspected one accused into the case. It is to be mentioned here that, allegedly two thieves have looted an amount of Rs 5 lakhs from shivnagar area under broad day light.

The incident took place on Thursday last when the father and daughter after withdrawing a huge cash of Rs 5 lakh from Axis bank were returning to their home in motor vehicle through Shivnagar road.

Reportedly, when they were returning in their motor cycle, at the same time two youths from the back dashed their motor bike and snatched the bag from the hand of the daughter leaving them seriously injured at the spot.

When the thieves had dashed the motor cycle, both the father and the daughter fell down from the motor cycle and taking the advantage the thieves have snatched the bag full of cash from them and flew way from the spot before anyone could trace them.

This incident has triggered resentment in the area.  However, the localities immediately rush to their help and informed the police.

 However, Police is further investigating the case.
