AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): Laughter, according to the experts, is the best medicine. It has been known to bring many health benefits and has also been credited as being a relaxant, an energiser, mood elevator, and pain reliever. The World Laughter Day, organised every year on the first Sunday in May, and was celebrated this year on May 1 in Tripura MBB college by people of all stage.

The celebration of World Laughter Day was meant to be a positive manifestation for world peace and to build up a global consciousness of brotherhood and friendship through laughter.

The first such celebration was held on January 11, 1998, in Mumbai, and was arranged by Dr Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter Yoga movement.

World Laughter Day takes place on the first Sunday of May of every year.  The first celebration was on January 10, 1998, in Mumbai, India, and was arranged by Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of the worldwide Laughter movement.

Laughter is a positive and powerful emotion that has all the ingredients required for individuals to change themselves and to change the world in a peaceful and positive way.

The day is now celebrated worldwide.

Dr. Kataria, a family doctor in India, was inspired to start the Laughter Yoga movement in part by the facial feedback hypothesis, which postulates that a person's facial expressions can have an effect on their emotions. It is most often celebrated by gatherings of people in public places with the sole purpose of laughing.

Laughter cannot heal or solve anything, but it can help to heal and dissolve everything. In such a gloomy economic climate one need to lighten up more than ever. Laughter is a positive and powerful emotion that has all the ingredients required for individuals to change themselves and to change the world in a peaceful and positive way.

 It was first started in India in 1998 and now takes place in all the major capitals of the world and more cities. Its aim is to promote intentional laughter and its many healing benefits, and raise awareness about the many thousands of community laughter clubs around the world.
