AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN):People in the interior parts of the state are suffering from acute water scarcity in this summer time.
Despite of making tall claims that the state is developing day by day, there are many families which are facing acute water crisis and are expose to water born diseases.
Detailing about the area it has been mentioned that an area of Killa Block, Rupaichari Block, Kathalia Block and other remote and hilly blocks along with others faces acute access to safe drinking water.Further, during the monsoon season the population of the area suffers from various water borne diseases.
Presently the people of the state are experiencing serious difficulties in accessing water either from the public or private supply sources.The unfortunate situation in various parts of the state, especially in the interior parts of the State which had continued to make life unbearable for residents, as most people have resorted to drinking unsafe water accessed from ponds and stagnant streams.
On daily basis, residents of the area collect water from the water bodies after walking miles.There are sections of population which mostly depends on the contaminated water of the stream running through the area somewhere in the far-flung.They take bath, wash their cloths on the stream and unfortunately fetch the same stream water to quench their thrust. Consumption of contaminated water results in increase in water borne disease in the area.
However, the situation results the people suffering from various water born diseases and facing trouble.
