AGARTALA, April 30 (TIWN): Yet in another jerk, a total of thirty-seven members of NSUI backed by Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday resigned from their post.

A total of thirty-seven members on Saturday declared about the resignation from their post at press club.

Following the footstep of the other three leaders, namely Sudip Roy Barman, Ashish Kumar Saha and Sushanta Chowdhury, all the thirty-seven members also resigned from their post.

In their resignation letter, the members have strongly condemned about the alliance between the Congress and Left Front. Besides, they also called this move as unethical.

They have forwarded their resignation letter to NSUI president Roji John and to Secretary AICC Girish Chodankar.

In the letter they have mentioned that the resignation letter has been submitted in protest of the unethical alliance between Congress and the Left Front in West Bengal Assembly Election.

“This particular move of forging an alliance with the CPI-M has completely ruined the prospect of the Congress party in Tripura wherein innumerable number of Congressmen have been murdered and subjected to immense oppression during the twenty-three years of left rule”, said the members.

Besides, they also mentioned that with this alliance the party has compromised with its values to form this alliance only to grab power and the hopes of the people of Tripura.

However, they also mentioned that due to which it has become impossible for them to continue further in the position and fight against the left.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier, Sudip Roy Barman, Ashish Kumar Saha and Sushanta Chowdhury has resigned from their post protesting against the alliance of the party.

However, this situation has lead Congress in Tripura in deep trouble with two senior party functionaries resigning from their posts in protest against alliance with Left parties in West Bengal Assembly polls.

Earlier, Chowdhury in his resignation letter to AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi alleged that this tie up seems betrayed the people of Tripura who gave around 45 percent of vote share to Congress in all the elections.
