Kailasahar / Dharmanagar, April 26 (TIWN): Tripura witnessed another sample of lawlessness as hundreds of villagers looted Rs 10 lakhs worth of oil in front of police.One oil tankers while coming from Dharmanagar to Agartala met with an accident at Bhagaban Nagar area and down outside the road. Large number of people started looted leakage oil from the tanker in front of large police presence.Large, corrugated drums are hidden behind bushes and at a shack beside the road even vehicles started transporting stolen oil.
Tanker driver disappeared conveniently, whole day looting process continued .
They opened one of the overhead hatches using tools and sucked to get oil from the tanker flowing and then filled many barrel.
Residents of a nearby slum pointed out the nonsense police personal where doing nothing against such type of daylight looting.
