AGARTALA, April 20 (TIWN): On specific information joint operation party of BSF and Police intercepted one Tata truck bearing Regt No.AS-01-FC-6484 in R K Nagar industrial area near Amtali-Khairpur by-pass on 20th April’ 2016 on Wednesdy.

The truck was carrying Phensedyl concealed in between milk powder. The joint operational party 168 Bn BSF and Police of Budhjung Nagar PS seized 13,300 bottles of Phensedyl worth Rs.14,03,150/-, milk powder – 14,800 packets worth Rs.47,88,000/- along with the truck and 06 Nos Indian SIM from the vehicle. The point of occurrence is about 09 Kms from IB.

The seized item along with the truck taken under custody by PS Budhjung Nagar, West Tripura and the case is registered under NDPS act against the driver and the owner of the truck. BSF intelligence wing of Gokulnagar is regularly keeping vigil on these type of vehicles carrying contrabands like Phensedyl and other banned cough syrups coming to the state using NH-44.
