AGARTALA, April 20 (TIWN): IT Department has decided to introduce biometric attendance system in all offices of the block development officer (BDO), sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), district magistrate (DM) and all directorates and secretariat soon.

The decision was taken following recommendations of the administrative reforms committee and after approval from the state cabinet. The system should be implemented at the earliest to ensure better work culture.

The information and technology (IT) department has been assigned to set up infrastructure for the system in these offices. The government has already installed biometric attendance system in Agartala Municipal Corporation and the DM's office in West Tripura.
