BG freight train derailed at Agartala-Bisramganj route, panic prevails high: commencement of passenger train is a distant hope for the people of Tripura

AGARTALA, April 17 (TIWN): Where the people of the landlocked state were waiting for the commencement of BG passenger train by the end of this month, the people received a jolt with the information about the derailment of BG Goods train at Agartala-Bisramganj route on Sunday.In another major shock to the state, after the collapse of the rail shed the derailment of the goods train has sent shock waves. Derailment in the newly laid BG track in Tripura has damaged tracks. Derailments not only caused delay in movement of other freight trains but also incurred heavy loss to Indian Railways. Locals alleged that it the failure of the systems on various Zonal Railways, or poor quality of manpower breach for failing to perform with expected standards, or acts of gods should be clearly spelt out by Indian Railway authorities.Wagons of a freight train derailed on the Agartala-Bisramganj route due to alleged damaged coupling, disrupting rail traffic on the route.Reportedly, no one was injured in the incident so far.It is also alleged Low quality construction material is being used which has led to this deadly incident. However, local police and railway authority are further investigating the case.

When the entire state was looking forward to board on BG passengers train to get connected to rest of the part of the nation, the hopes of the common people turned bleak as the sources from different places claimed that goods loaded train was derailed at Bisalgarh North Brajapur Kadamtala area on Sunday.

It is alleged that chasing behind to meet the deadline poor quality material is used in the construction. No authenticity is maintained in the construction and it is expected that there is no assurance when the BG passenger will service start in the state.

It is to be mentioned here that NFR authority is willing to start train service by the end of beginning of next month but if the status of the work is such deteriorating hardly it will be possible to begin the service.

Although it was claimed by Tripura State Govt. that Railway service will begin from April 15, but observing the allegations of use of poor quality of products for the construction of the railway station question arises whether the work will be completed in successive time period or not. The localites alleged that the extremely poor quality of iron rods and cement and sand are used in the construction and there was a series of irregularities in the construction.

It is to be mentioned here that Railroad crews are still finishing work on the tracks, installing new switches and making other final adjustments before the trains start to roll. With an aim to meet the deadline and to complete the construction work on time, workers are continuing with the work in a full-fledged manner but question arises how much safety measures are adopted.
