Agartala, Sept 18(TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar directed the department of Tribal Welfare to hold a review meeting every month for development of tribes in the state.
He was speaking at the review meeting of five – year perspective plan at civil secretariat today organized by Schedule Tribe department. The chief minister directed the concerned head of the department to formulate an action plan by November 15.
The perspective plan is formulated mainly for socio – economic development of tribal people. It includes all weather road connectivity, telecommunication, power connectivity to remaining tribal hamlets, supply of safe drinking water, basic medical service, irrigation facilities etc.He also directed the department officials to implement all programmes within three years. All rank and files of the department should work with commitment to achieve the target.
