KAMALPUR, April 15 (TIWN): In a sensational happening, a wealthy and reputed contractor of Salema area came under allegation of beating his laborers as they demanded their due wages. Further, the police of Salema police station also got alleged to work in the favor of that contractor and trying their best to not accept the registration. However, the beaten persons lodged the complaint with the OC Salema police station and police ultimately got bound to keep the complaint.

According to the complaint, a mason namely Amar Debnath of Jayantibazar area under Salema police Station area worked under the contractor of Salema Biswajit Ghosh who already made a reputation of good human being. Amar worked under him in the project of Kulai District Hospital Quarter Complex construction. Earlier he worked in the stadium construction work at Panisagar. However, for last three months, Amar not got a single paisa of wages.

As a result, he approached to Biswajit on the last day of the Bengali year as the Manager of Biswajit namely Basu Namasudra informed him to go and to take the due wages. But when he approached, BIswajit completely denied the matter of wages and took him into a room behind his office at Salema. There Biswajit and two others beat Amar mercilessly. On the same day, the contractor and his aides also beat three more laborers namely Gouranga Debnath, working at Panisagar; Raju Das working at Panisagar; and Biplab Debnath working at the same place as they also demanded the due wages. Then when they approached to the Salema Police Station, police tried their best to not accept complaint against the influential contractor. Then they again approached the police on 14/04/2016 and lodged the complaint.

It got alleged that, Biswajit was alleged for doing the same practice against many more laborers. Now, would police look into the matter, remained the matter of the time.
