AGARTALA, April 13 (TIWN): Showing disapproval over alliance issue between CPI-M and Congress, two of the CPI-M members were expelled from the party of Wednesday. Two CPI-M members of Teliamura Division committee Arabinda Lahari and Dipak Roy from CPI-M branch committee were expelled after they had shown disproval over the alliance issue. According to the sources, two of the CPI-M candidates were suspended after they had shown disapproval in alliance issue between CPI-M and congress. It is to be mentioned here that, a politics of compulsion has pushed the CPI (M) and the Congress closer. The growing clamour for alliance between the Congress and the CPI (M) is left in unsolved stage in Tripura after about 38 has resigned from the party. The much talked CPI-M and congress alliance somewhat remains unsolved after CPI-M has push the ball in the court of congress. It is to be mentioned here that CPI-M has given an indirect signal to the Congress on the alliance issue throwing the ball in the court of congress.'Both CPI (M) and Congress are ideologically opposite to each other and alliance with each will do no work well for the party politics.

To fight against Mamata in west Bengal, the CPI (M), in an effort to form a secular and democratic alliance against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and BJP, made it clear that it would consider if an offer comes from the Congress which reveals that they will not approach to the parties for alliance thereby pushing the ball in the court of Congress.Apart this alliance is a question to the society as there can’t be alliance where there is no similarity. Both CPI-M and congress has different ideology and strategy.

It is to be majority of CPI (M) state committee members have spoken in favour of either an alliance or an electoral pact with Congress by stating "extraordinary situation demands historic decisions".

The clarion call for the alliance came from former chief minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee on 16 January at Singur. Flagging off a march from Singur to Salboni, Bhattacharjee issued an open appeal to the Congress to join hands with the Left Front to defeat Mamata Banerjee's TMC in the Assembly election due a few months later.

With the West Bengal Assembly polls, the state leadership of CPI(M) and Congress have been advocating an alliance to take on the ruling TMC.
