Tension prevails in Indo-Bangla border: Illegal intrusion, porous Indo-Bangla border triggers panic in border areas

AGARTALA, April 11 (TIWN): Despite of several tall claims by the authority saying that smuggling has declined through the Indo-Bangla border area and BSF is keeping strict vigilance at the border area, allegedly till day illegal intrusion of smugglers and smuggling is yet high across various border area.
According to the reports, Kailashahar, Sonamura, Khowai and various other border areas of the state are yet hit with rampant illegal intrusion.

Various items including phensedyl, drugs, cough syrup are on high. Apart from this, human trafficking is also allegedly on rise.

Smuggling of Phensedyl a cough syrup, with an exceedingly high dose of codeine and other contraband items are increasing day by day in the state.

Although some parts of the border area are being fenced, yet the smugglers cut the fence and enter in to the land of Tripura.

It is to be mentioned here that where the BSF claims about the strict vigilance in the border area, smuggling are yet high in both the fenced and un-fenced areas.

 A section of people alleged that due to the under table connection between police and smugglers the police are not doing anything to stop the smuggling of Phensedyl and contraband items.

With roots of smuggling deepens, lakhs and lakhs of contraband items and drugs are being smuggled through the border area.

Illegal intrusion of the extremist, smuggling of contraband items and cattle’s across Tripura to Bangladesh and vice-versa has become an everyday-issue. Despite the wire fencing across the border smuggling is on a crest for transporting the prohibited goods.

It has been prolonged many days that the smuggling of cow has been going on but no initiative has been taken to curb the rising smuggling in the area, complained the locals.

Most of the residences in the area are dependent over milk business or farming. Therefore, the continuous smuggling has brews resentment among the public of the area.

People have shown resentment saying that the continuous smuggling in the sub-division tension prevails in the area and leading people to face huge loss in the business.

It is suspected that the miscreants have cut down the fence earlier that is why the miscreants could smuggle the bulls in a short period.

The locals complained that the smuggling has rampant over the area. Besides, they also stated that it is happening due to negligence in strict vigilance if BSF.
