AGARTALA, April 9 (TIWN): As central Govt. has slashed the MGNREGA funds for Tripura for the financial year 2016-17, along with the notice to fill up the gaps of all works(of 2015-16) before the 1st June, 2016, Chef Minsiter & RD Principal Secretary GSG Ayyangar called for urgent review meeting on Saturday at Pragna Bhawan, where no media person was allowed to stay for longer. However pressure now seems heavy upon the Manik Govt. after Tripura RD Dept. had published fake figures and accounts for 2015-16, which had brought major embarrassments for the state, as the state. That fake report, which brought many awards for Tripura for achieving highest Man-Days in the whole country, has been exposed by Union RD Ministry’s Joint Secretary Aparajita Sarangi as all are fake-awards with false reports sent by Ayyangar.

As a result the Central govt. has issued letter  to the state govt. of Tripura for adding wrong information into the reports. Whereas Tripura records of more than 83 days work under MGNREGA (As per Tripura RD Dept.’s record) but in last financial year till March 10, Tripura had completed only 36.4 percent works—central govt, thus warned the state to complete the work within June 1.

All these manipulated datas drawn criticism at Central RD Ministry level for which Tripura RD Dept. is presently under heavy pressure.

On Saturday all the ‘national award winner’ DMs including 6 in SKOCH awards DM Gomati sat with dark faces in that meeting.

Now all are in hyper tension with the thoughts how to complete the work soon. The lapse is around 50 % at least, between the wrong report of Ayyangar & the original work progress which discovered by the central Ministry.

As a result Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Chief Secretary Y P Sing, RD Minister Naresh Jamatia, RD Principal Secretary GSC Ayyanger and all the DMs of 8 Districts, including other RD officials jointly held meeting on Saturday.

However, central Govt. has also warned the state govt. with the notice that the work should be completed before June, otherwise necessary actions will be taken, (written in the letter). 

The meeting however also held about the fund utilization of 2016-17, which has been slashed in compared to the last year.

It’s to be seen how far Manik Sarkar can save his scam tainted Principal Secretary Ayyangar, as he has been saved till day like other scamstars like BDO Bimal Chakraborty.
