TGFOA organizes 3rd Biennial Conference

AGARTALA, April 9 (TIWN): Tripura Graduate fisheries Officers’ Association on Saturday organized 3rd Biennial Conference at Shahid Bhagat Singh Yuba Abas.

The programme was inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in the presence of other members of Tripura Graduate fisheries Officers’ Association.

During the programme, deliberation on ‘Trends and Future Strategies for Aquaculture Development: Bangladesh and Tripura’ were given by dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Professor, Department of Fisheries, University of Rajsahi Bangladesh, Shams Md. Galib, Assistant Professor, department of Fisheris, University of Rajsahi, Bangladesh, Dr. R. K Saha, Professor, ollege of Fisheries, Lembucherra amd N. Majumder, Dy. Director of Fisheries.

It is to be mentioned here that Tripura Graduate Fisheries Officer’s Association was formed in the year 2009 and recognized by Government of Tripura in the year 2011.

The association was established with an objective to take effort in sustainable Fish production as well to promote the honour and dignity of Graduate Fisheries personnel who are engaged in Fisheries occupation.

The main objective of the association is to give emphasis to attain sustainable Fish production in Tripura. Besides, to promote and advance in Fishery Science and bring about improvement in Fisheries development, transfer of latest technology to Fish Farmers, Fishery research, Fisheries extension and Fisheries Education in Tripura.

Besides, to uphold the honour and dignity of Graduate Fisheries Personnel engaged in fisheries occupation and to promote Co-operation amongst the members.

Further, to provide social service through awareness and motivation of the Fish Farmers to uplift their socio-economic status.
