AGARTALA, March 30 (TIWN): Calling upon new blood donors to donate blood generously, Health Minister Badal Chowdhury on Wednesday inaugurated the blood donation camp organised on the occasion of sadar divisional convention of Tripura Government Employees Association (TGEA) at Umakanta school.

Inaugurating the camp minister said that the state has earned a very important position in the country when it comes to blood collection through voluntary blood donation camps.

There is no alternative of blood said Minister Chowdhury.

However, he also appreciated the initiative of the TEGA for organizing the blood donation camp. Saying that the voluntary blood donation movement became a festival in Tripura, the minister urged young people to generously donate blood to save lives.

In his speech, Minister also laid emphasis on donation of human organs posthumously. The time has come to encourage people about donation of human organs.

Besides, he also urged to continue with this kind of social activities so that the people can be helped.

Blood donation occurs when a person voluntarily has blood drawn and used for transfusions.

Donating blood should become a habit for the mass as blood can save life. Some time, we come across many patients who pass away due to insufficient blood in the hospitals or the Blood Bank but the regular initiatives of the people may save the life.

It is to be mentioned here that several people need blood when they meet any accident or their body require more blood after the body losses blood in injury or diseases. Therefore, on that situation people require blood which becomes possible with the donated blood.
