With the aim to ensure full safety, Railway safety commissioner sailesh kumnar Pathak on Sunday last took a detailed note of the work status at Agartala railway station.
As per the plan, the Railway Safety Commissioner reached here in Agartala with his team and started the inspection for the safety run of the train under his direct supervision.
The safety inspection is the last step in facilitating commissioning of the route, which connects Tripura with other parts of the country. Though the gauge conversion works were completed month ago, the safety inspection was delayed, raising concern among train commuters.
According to Railway sources, the mandatory final safety inspection would be conducted by experts for at least 6 days. Railways can run services on the route only after the safety inspection and certification by the CRS.

Apart from the CRS inspection the track is all set to run the train; however the train cannot be rolled until it gets CRS clearance.
On commissioning, this section will provide an alternative link to the rail network in Tripura.
The new broad gauge line will improve rail connectivity between Tripura and other states of the country.
