KAMALPUR, March 28 (TIWN): CPI-M party would not go with the details of the Yusuf Commission and remained determined to cling to their traditional stand to blame the opposition for the brutal murder of the former minister Bimal Sinha and his brother Bidyut Sinha at Avanga on 31st March, 1998. The stand of the party became evident once again in the Blood Donation camp organized on the occasion of 19th Death Anniversary of Bimal Sinha at Soumendra Sutradhar stage at Manikbhnader. The party organized the camp as a part of their yearly calendar program of observing the death anniversary of the former Minister Bimal Sinha. The Minister alongwith his brother Bidyut had been gunned down as the duo went to Avanga and reached the Dhalai river bank to negotiate with the terrorists about the release of their kidnapped brother Bikram Sinha. The Minister left his security on the Kamalpur-Ambassa road and went on the river bank. There the NLFT terrorists gunned down the duo on 31st March, 1998. From then on the party used to observe the day as “Anti terrorism Day” and organized different programs ahead of the day. In the blood donation camp was also a part of this program where 40 youths donated their blood. However, the State Government became bound to bring out the report of the Yusuf Commission, set in this regard, after the directives of the High Court, recently.

In that report it was clearly stated that, the Minister had close intimacy with the ultras and his and his brother’s death resulted from the over confidence of the Minister over the ultras.

However, the party leadership claimed even today that, the murder of Bimal Sinha and his brother Bidyut Sinha was a result of the conspiracy planned by the opposition. It became clear that, the party would not go with the report of the Commission though, Retried Justice Yusuf was a close aide of the then ruling party CPI-M of West Bengal.
