KAMALPUR, March 28 (TIWN): At a time when the state remained busy in proclaiming of extra ordinary development, then some issues really became very shameful for the authority to maintain such claims. And specially, when the state could not provide a hassle-free and smooth journey or more specifically a stable and strong bridge over the Kamalpur-Khowai NEC road, then the significance of the so-called development came under question.

The scenario remained so regarding the bridge on Kamalpur-Khowai NEC road at Lambucharra under this sub-division. The bridge got filled with ditches and pot holes.

And the situation remained so for more than a year. Every day, the ditches and pot holes got increased in size. And now, those ditches got spread across the width of the bridge.

ON the road and over the bridge, several hundred passenger and goods carrier used to ply from the dawn to dead of night. Moreover, the bike riders also used to ply on the road in significant numbers. The ambulances carrying patients also used to run through the road. In short, several thousand people used to ply on the road every day.

In this context, the maintenance and stability of the bridge remained an important matter. But, the deplorable situation remained the same for last one or two years and the state government remained with their fingers’ crossed.
