AGARTALA, March 27 (TIWN): The much hyped CRS inspection which is quintessential before the commencement of the BG service in Tripura has begun from Sunday. The inspection will be carried out for 6 days on the different tracks in Tripura. Depending on the report of CRS inspection the train will be set to run on the tracks. It is to be mentioned here that the inspection had began from morning 11 and will be carried out in 9 trolleys. Even three trolleys are also brought at Agartala. The inspection to be carried out under commissioner sailesh kumnar Pathak. However, he will also be accompanied by Deputy Commissioner and others. A team comprising of Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) and delegates of NFR arrived in the state on Sunday morning. However, to much of relaxation to the common people a Passenger train with about 6 bogies arrived at Agartala Rail Station on Sunday as a part of the trial run. The train started its journey from Badarpur. However, no passenger was inside except railway officials.

The officials came in Tripura and inspected the working progress of the railway tracks.

Two high officials including DCM B.K.Misra, R. K Mandal DOM visited here in Tripura and took note of the work progress.Apart from the CRS inspection the track is all set to run the train; however the train cannot be rolled until it gets CRS clearance.

If everything falls in place, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is likely to run passenger train on the newly converted Broad-Gauge track in state by April.  If possible the BG passenger train will be a gift to the people of landlocked Tripura ahead of the Bengali New Year.

Agartala BG passenger service can kick off at any moment as it is just waiting for green signal from CRS inspection.  It is to be mentioned here that the BG freight train is continuously arriving in the state with goods.

However, the sources from the Railway authority said that the track is all set to start BG passengers train but nothing can be done before CRS inspection as safety is top most priority.

NFR is all set to conduct the CRS inspection to ensure safety of the track which is newly converted from Metre gauge to Broad gauge.

The much-awaited gauge conversion work in Tripura line has been completed and is pending for inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS). The work on the route commenced in the month of October and the work is almost completed.

On commissioning, this section will provide an alternative link to the rail network in Tripura.

The new broad gauge line will improve rail connectivity between Tripura and other states of the country.

Once the route is commissioned, there are expectations that new services would be allowed in due course of time.

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is working hard to bring Agartala under the country’s Broad Gauge Network by March 2016. With the introduction of the BG facility, travelling would become more easy and reasonable.
