Celebration of colours end on a peaceful note, no report of any major untoward incident

AGARTALA, March 25 (TIWN): Amid elaborate security arrangements, Holi celebrations concluded peacefully in the state without much reports of any untoward incident.

The city had witnessed instances of clashes between the people at isolated places but imposition of prohibitory orders was under surveillance to bring the situation under control.

The joint cooperation of police and traffic had made it possible to observe peaceful holi in the state. In order to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival of colours, Traffic Department has taken several initiatives including deploying number of traffic personnel all across the city.  Stressing over the initiatives, the department did not allow any loud speaker in any vehicles. If anyone was found violating the direction or order their driving licence was to be seized.

On the other hand, if the department receives any kind of information regarding any untoward incidents the personnel would rushed to spot.

Strictest possible disciplinary action was taken to curb any act of hooliganism and disturbance during Holi

The traffic personnel were deployed for 24 hours in various major parts of the city to avoid any kind of untoward incidents.

Besides, quick response team were also deployed at major parts of the city to deal with any untoward incident.

People all across thronged the city lanes to welcome the festival of colours with their entire dear and near ones.

People plunged into Holi celebrations, splashing colours, water, on each other while some even played with foam to celebrate the festival with gaiety and fervour.

However, the restrictions did not dampen their spirits and there was riot of colours in especially in the city side.

People smeared "gulal" on one another and splashed buckets of coloured water on every visitor to their street, while the children had fun with the "pitchkaris". At some places, shower nozzles were fixed to spray coloured water on the visitors.

At other places, women and children waited on the balcony to splash coloured water on passers-by, while others cheered them.
