AGARTALA, March 24 (TIWN): Although several initiatives taken by the Traffic department on Thursday to keep strict vigilance over any kind of untoward incidents, many youngsters flouted traffic rules by triple-riding, shouting on the road.
According to the sources reports, youngsters flouted traffic rules. Many of the bike riders were observed ribbing bikes in speed.
Several youngsters are shouting over the people.
Despite several drives conducted by the traffic police, offenders are not taking rules seriously.
While drivers are seen without seat belts, people riding two wheelers do not wear helmets after repeated warnings. Even school children ride without helmets and even seen riding three at a time.
Youngsters love to ride two wheelers at high speed and flout traffic laws and consider that as a brave thing to do. A few feel wearing helmets would ruin their hairstyle, others wear it but ignore to lock the strap. This is a serious threat to their life which may lead to any kind untoward incidence.
It is to be mentioned here that the festival of holi is the annual Hindu religious festival in which people fling bright colour powders and scented water at one another.
Holi celebrates the Hindu story of Prahlada. Prahlada was a prince dedicated to the worship of Vishnu, a major Hindu god. Prahlada's father and aunt opposed his religious faith, and as punishment made him sit in the middle of a raging bonfire. Vishnu protected Prahlada, and the prince did not burn.
The colors mark both Prahlada's flickering bonfire and the bright colors associated with spring.
It is to be mentioned here that with an aim to maintain the Law and order in the State on account of the celebration of Holi Festival, all the liquor shops were closed on March 23.
Yet, it seems like in some places youths are flouting the law and order including traffic rules.
