AGARTALA, March 19 (TIWN): One after other termination of jobs under the ruling CPI-M government appears that the party has been tactfully offering jobs under the state government, earning good name among the people and later hitting the same candidates with the job termination letter. From the current trends of job termination it appears that the CPI-M tactfully offers jobs to the candidates and later hit them with the job termination letter. Throwing the ball in the decision of court, CPI-M has been bluffing the youth in the name of employment. It is to be mentioned here that in another major blow to the state, after 10,323 teachers terminated case, the Tripura HC has terminated the jobs of 34 Assistant professors appointed in Agartala Government medical college in Tripura. With faults in the recruitment policy of the 34 Assistant professors, appointed in the year 2012 under the notification of Adhoc recruitment from the state government, the Tripura HC has terminated the jobs of these 34 Assistant professors appointed in AGMC and hospital since 2012. Uncertainty looms large over the future of 10,323 teachers working in different government schools of Tripura, whose jobs were cancelled by the High Court with effect from December 31 because of faulty appointment process based on unconstitutional employment policy, onMay 7.
Terming the job as illegal, a division bench of High Court of Tripura headed by Chief Justice Deepak Gupta directed the state government to cancel the jobs of the teachers after December and by that time to frame an employment policy within two months and appoint new teachers.
Apart from 10,323 teachers, 34 Assistant professor, the ruling Left Front government have terminated 156 non – teaching staff of Rashtirya Madhyamik Shiskha Abhyjaan (RMSA). The notification stated that the centre have stopped funds for all the terminated non – teaching staffs. After the termination, staffs of other centrally sponsored are at constant fear meeting the same fate.
Unemployment stands as serious problem in Tripura as young graduates have no place to search jobs other than enrolling names as CPI-M cadres in party offices. With the increase in number of pass out students, the number of unemployed is also raising high.
Tripura has third highest unemployment, 2013’s report says. Tripura is a state, which has no proper industry where people can run their livelihood; neither has it had any proper source of income.
The Manik Sarkar government has failed to give employment to lakhs of unemployed youths during his years of rule. How many more years will it take to give jobs to the youths?
