AGARTALA, March 19 (TIWN): The prolonged petrol and diesel crisis can met an end once the meter gauge track uptp Dharmanagar oil depot is changed to BG track and catering oil becomes easy from the depot trough train.
Although authority claims to have taken initiative to put an end to the prolonged petrol crisis in the state but the ground reality says that the state continue to suffer under the acute petrol crisis.
It is to be mentioned here that if the railway track located 1 KM from Dharmagar station is converted to BG to carry petrol goods the oil tankers can easily enter the depot which can reduce the petrol crisis in the state.
However, as the maintenance work of NH44 is not done regularly it has become nearly impossible for the truck to enter in the oil depot on time. Reportedly state government is hardly taking any initiative to meet the crisis in the state.
Since last many days’ goods had been found rotten on Assam-Agartala road, as vehicles were stranded along the NH-44 highway.
Aiming to curb the prolonged crisis, the minister also asked the IOC to increase the number of oil tankers and even requested the NFR officials to convert the meter gauge line to broad gauge till the IOc’s depot in Dharmanagar.
However, a delegation of the railways and IOC is also scheduled to visits Dharmaagar to review the situation. Sources said that transport Manik Dey has also written letter to Union Petroleum Ministry for taking initiatives to bring fuel in the state via Bangladesh
It has become a common feature of all petrol pump stations every time the consumers had to wait for the prolonged many hours.
This not only causes problem to petrol vehicle owners, revenue generation of the state is also affected.
The state is facing acute petrol crisis a huge crowd has been observed in front of the Bidurkarta Petrol Pump and in some other petrol pumps in the capital.
Fuel crisis continues to suffer the state with board of ‘No Petrol’ hanging in front of the major petrol pumps.
The crises have hampered the regular movement of vehicles in the capital as well as the sub-division with number of vehicle owners queuing up in the petrol pumps in the area.
Though the situation was brought under control and the common mass are facilitated with fuel few days ago, it seems like the shortage of fuel crisis is yet continuing in the capital and interior parts of the state.
However, the locals urge the authority to take strict initiative to curb the prolonged fuel problem in the State hampering the smooth movement of the vehicles in the State.
