TELIAMURA, March 14 (TIWN): Clash among SC and ST has created much turmoil in an ADC village at Teliamura, under Kalyanpur, on Monday, which has resulted into major fights between Bengali and Tribal people at there.
Reportedly, Maharanipur Village, under kalyanpur village, is holding in total 9 seats for Panchayat. Among the 9 seats total 7 seats are reserved for ST, whereas the rest 2 are for SC. However, in the last Village Committee election in total 9 seats had been occupied by CPI-M there.
But North Maharanipur Villages CPI-M members have come with an illogical demand that according to the rule of the Election Commission, it has been said that the Chairman has to be SC, whereas the Vice-chairman has to be ST.
But according to the public, no where it is mentioned whether the chairman will be SC or ST, but it will be as per rules. Chairman could be easily made from ST candidates, as total ST candidates are 7, whereas SC candidates are 2.
However, regarding all these a clash occurred between the common people at there.
To control the situation TTAADC Chairman Ranjit Debbarma rushed to that place.
CPI-M leader Biswajit Dutta also reached there to close the matter at that moment, so that the party would save its face from common people across the state.
The situation was out of control during the whole day and presently, police is strictly guarding the ADC area under Kalyanpur PS.
However, the issue has not been solved yet. Common people are in demand for re-election.
