KAMALPUR, March 10 (TIWN): The popular and familiar notion of Churaibari police station as the den of huge illegal income for the cops, now got a silent challenge from the Kamalpur police station in Manik’s so-called ‘golden administration’. The effortless opportunity of illegal income provided by the NEC roads made the police station and its staffs very happy with huge earning. And the situation became so that the officials often claimed that, they need not to withdraw their salaries for running their family.

It might seem a bit exaggeration of facts, but the reality remained so. There remained huge parts of NEC roads under this police station. Both the Halhali-Fatikroy road and the Manikbhander-Khowai road had parts under the jurisdiction of this police station.

And now, it became an open secret that, the NEC roads had become smoothest and easiest corridor for the contrabands dealers. In every two or three months huge consignments got netted by police. And every item including cannabis, foreign liquor, and psychotropic substances continued to be transported through this road.

According to the sources and the information gathered at the District level of police, almost every day substances not less than 10, 00, 000 rupees of market value, transported through NEC roads. And Kamalpur police got a huge commission on the monthly basis from the dealers.

Which dealer used to delay in payment or which party did not pay, came into the grip of police with consignment. And after the trumpeting drama of the cops the seized items got ordered to be sold in auction. And utilizing the affair with the police, those dealers bought the items from the auction once again. In such cases also, police got happy rewards from their under-curtain friends.

Now, in case of Churaibari, the income of police decreased a lot at present as the vehicles carrying such illegal items, used to enter the state through Kathaltali-Jherjheri road.

And the state administration yet not became able to set any arrangement on that road. But, as the NEC road from Kumarghat became the only choice of the dealers to carry their items smoothly, then they had to pay to the Kamalpur police station. Now, the top cops knew all those matters very well. But they too remained numbed up probably for some under table transactions.
