AGARTALA, March 10 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, a 58-year old woman died on the spot on Thursday due to severe burn on the body.

Reportedly, a 58-year old woman identified as Gita Rani Bhowmik died on the spot after her body caught fire from cooking gas on Thursday. According to the police report, the deceased is a residence of Bishalgarh Jangalia area.

Besides, it has been mentioned that Nani Gopal Bhowmik is her husband and she had a son namely Goutam Bhowmik.

The incident has triggered panic all across the area. The deceased woman could not be saved as the burn was so severe that she died on the spot.

Later, she has been taken to the hospital for post mortem.

Police is so far suspecting that this is an outcome of domestic violence case.

It is to be mentioned here that number of domestic violence incidents are on high in the state. Day after day numbers of cases against domestic violence are getting piled up in the police register.

However, despite of several incidence of domestic violence in the State the concern authority is least bothered to curb the rising crime against women.

On one hand where the State Government claims that the crime against women is decreasing day by day, on the other hand every after now and then many untoward incidents against women are coming up. These highlights that how much the women in the State are secure in the broad day light itself.

Although the authority organizes several awareness came to aware the people to stop the violence against women.

It is to be mentioned here that until and unless strict initiatives are taken against the rising crime against women it is very hard to curb down the crime.

However, the incidents prevails tension among the residence of the area.
