KAMALPUR, March 9 (TIWN): The trumpeted ‘golden era’ turned to be the period of administrative negligence and deprivation even for the ruling party supporters at the remote parts of the state. And the reality became so grave that, a toiling fish-farming youth remained deprived of any kind of legacy from the part of the police as well as from the Department even after four days of the planned destruction of his long earned wealth.

The incident took place in the Kalachari No. 2 area under Kamalpur on 6th March last. On that morning, the renowned fish farmer of the locality Bijoy Das found his three ponds filled with dead fishes.

At once he realised that, all the fishes were being poisoned.

Otherwise the fishes of all the three ponds could not die and it’s too in the same night. Accordingly, he lodged complaint with the Kamalpur police and also informed the officials of the Department of Fishery.

Police made a trip to the spot and assured him to nab the culprits soon. Interestingly, the officials from the Department of Fishery also made a trip. It got estimated that, he incurred a loss of approximately 5, 00, 000 rupees.

But even after the four days, neither the police nor the Department adopted any step. Further, the Department not even promise some assurances to make up the huge loss of this toiling fish farmer.

At the time, when the ministers and the officials of the Department demanded the self-sufficiency and alternative employment through pisciculture, then if there not lied any responsibility with the department to help the farmer? But, Bijoy not knew where to find the answer after the complete devastation of his dreams.
