AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Considering the commencement of the BG passengers railway service from Agartala, the city railway station to be developed as a model station, with all the modern facilities and the renovation work is underway in fullswing. The station would be widened and all platforms would be repaired to avoid any untoward incident during rush hours. Special care would be taken at the exit and entry points to avoid any chaos. Also, special arrangement would be made for hygiene and cleanliness and new foot over bridges are also constructed in the platforms. Officials say the aim of the project is to eliminate the bottlenecks at the entrance and exit gates of the station which result in huge traffic jams. Hundreds of vendors who always tend to encroached upon the area adjacent to the boundary wall of the station will also be asked to leave. All work like shifting of structures and removal of boundary wall would be executed within few days. People from Tripura will enjoy a congestion-free entrance to Agartala railway station in the near future. The NFR has begun work on a planned revamp of the city's oldest railway station wherein it will be bestowed a look to make it a model station.

With the aim to give a new look to the Agartala railway station along with BG conversion wok at Tripura, the workers has also taken up the work of renovation of the railway station at Badharghat.

Huge numbers of workers are engaged in the renovation work.

Even though the authorities have focussed their attention in taking up the BG conversion works of the tracks for the time being, they are also concentrating on the ways to meet the future requirements of the platform to provide the best facilities to the people.

In order to make the Agartala Railway Station as perfect station, different works including extension of platforms, creation of new platforms and installation of new BG rail tracks have started.

The facelift is being carried out after the construction of the railway station in Agartala. Along with the BG conversion work the authorities are also concentrating on the issue to set up a modern railway station as it will cater huge number of trains in the state.

Construction of the Cross bridges over the rail line at every platform of the rail stations is also constructed to ensure free movement of the passengers and to avoid any untoward incident.

The old platform has been broken and new platform are being constructed to accommodate the train.
