Tripura Govt.’s sudden concern for farmers raised question : Arun Jaitley’s huge budget proposal to double farmers’ income, opened Tripura govt.'s eyes too

AGARTALA / TELIAMURA, March 4 (TIWN) : As soon as the Central Govt. had announced the 3rd Union budget in support of farmers and challenged to double the income of farmers in rural India, Tripura Govt. seems more sympathetic towards the farmers here. Ofcourse, the huge amount of budget has drawn the eyes of govt. here. Reportedly, in central budget total allocation for farmers’ welfare is Rs. 35,984 crores.

This allegation has come out as just after the budget was announced, from the next day in various parts of Tripura, many workshops are being held with the farmers by the Tripura Agricultural Dept.

On Wednesday, the agriculture dept. focused on how to improve the quality of potato here and how to make the farmers self sufficient with potato production. The govt. officials visited Kunjaban village, under Teliamura on Wednesday and took a survey of the scenario.

Also, on Tuesday, ICAR, Dept. of Agriculture, under Tripura Govt. arranged a one day work-shop with farmers at Gopal Nagar, under Kalyanpur block, Teliamura. The workshop was under National food security Mission. In this workshop farmers were selected who have been benefited by using new methods in agriculture. Planning for new crop distribution, new machine was also discussed.

So, with a keen eye, it will be clear that either food security or food-sufficiency---the Tripura Govt. is pre-planning to win the sympathy of the public for the upcoming Assembly election 2018 with the schemes of Modi Govt.

The aim of left front govt. is that farmers would no way know about central govt.’s initiative to make farmers self sufficient. All credits and a lion’s share of the fund would be go for the Tripura Govt. dept.

It to be mentioned here that after Arun Jaitley has announced to think beyond food security to income security, which will double income of farmers by 2022., Tripura Govt. is planning to taking the credit in future with central investment.

The minister has announced a 228% jump in funds for rural areas and govt. has also announced for Agriculture with Rs. 17,000 crores investment, which means 86,000 crores in 5 years to make India food sufficient.

However, with this Tripura Agricultural Dept is to fool the people as they are used to fool the poor people with MGNREGA scheme.
