'Riot' in Ramthakur Collge area : SFI students wounded Police firing: police,law & order breaks down : SDPO talks to TIWN

AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN) : When police trying to enforce law against unruly drivers, it turned into major chaos in front of Ramthakur College at Badharghat area on Thrusday. SFI students started slogan and Block Agartala Sabroom NH44 road after a Drunker Driver of Maruti Van bearing no TR01Z 0421 hit Ramthakur college student Dilip Sarkar .

He was seriously wounded and referred to GB Hospital.

AD Nagar Police rushed to spot and Police Officer Partha Das did  Lathi Charge, then police firing to control the riot situation along with TSR Jawans.

Srabanti Basak ,Keshab Biswas and Shaymal Sarkar were seriously wounded after police firing and they also admitted into GB hospital afterwards.SFI unit of Ramthakur College agree to withdraw road blocked after assurance of  SDPO Harimohan Das .

Most of the vehicles have been stopped and no passengers were allowed to run vehicles after road blocked by SFI unit.

However, talking to SDPO over phone he said, “When accidents happen people blames that police is responsible for accidents, but when the same police impose few rules upon them then police is also blamed”. “But for the drivers profit and for the sake of their unruly activity as per wish cannot be tolerated”.SDPO further said, “Not only today, it was since yesterday that the unruly drivers had stopped vehicle movements in Udaipur and the common people have become the sufferer”.

“The traffic rules are not only for Tripura, but in overall India”, he added.“Both the central Govt. and court have become strict against unruly drivers”, said SDPO. He  further said, “Obviously police is responsible for enforcing all rules and regulations and so till day what happened can not be bear any more”.“Court has become also strict against the vehicle laws and all these have created much problem for them”, said Das. However, due to the disruption, the schools, colleges and offices have been hampered to a great extent.
