AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): Yet after implementation of several power plants to generate electricity, population of the State is once again hit with the frequent load shedding.

It is to be mentioned here that with the beginning of the summer season once again the people are hit with the frequent load shedding.

Despite Tripura is connected with several power projects of the state and the various other power plants in Northeast, power scenario of the state has grimed followed by low voltage and daily load shedding.

It is to be mentioned here that Tripura Power Generation Limited (TPGL) has been formed as per the direction of Central Power Act, 2003 for smooth work progress in the supply of power.

However, allegation has been raised that there are several area where lead shedding continues for prolonged two hours creating problem for the people.

Where people were expecting that with the implementation of the power plant project the prolonged load shedding problem will get over soon, yet after years also no improvement has been observed in the load shedding problem.

It is to be mentioned here that there are families who are yet spending their life with kerosene lamp and hoping for electricity.

The frequent load shedding in Tripura has made the life miserable as Tripura’s own power generation is down to its half of total capacity during past few days.

According to the reports, Government owned hydro plants are also not working properly. Every after few day the plant gets out of order leading to power disruption in the state.

It is worthy to mention that on the one hand where the load shedding problem and low voltage is continuing in the various parts of the state, the Power Department fails to overcome the poor condition of the state power supply.

However, the story of the Power scenario of the state has become interesting when despite the state is being connected with number of power plants, the state is facing load shedding and low voltage resulting suffering for people.
