AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): The state government once again with their political influential agenda successfully skipped from the issue of publishing the much awaited Yusuf Commission report in front of the count on Monday.

It appears from the scenario that state government will intentionally keep on dragging the issue in the name of asking time as the report is expected to dig out the hidden facts behind the murder case.

Talking to TIWN correspondent, social activist and an advocate Kalyani Roy said that the case was placed before the division bench of Chief Justice Deepak and Justice Subhasis Talapatra but the Public prosecutor in behalf of government demanded some more time and stated that the report will be made public in the next assembly session which will be hoist by the state government in the coming days.

She further said that the state government will publish the report as well the report on action taken in the next assembly session which is scheduled to hoist by the state government.

In previous hearing the HC has asked government to place the report by February 29 after PIL was filed. The report was placed before the division bench of Chief Justice Deepak and Justice Subhasis Talapatra but once again the date for publication is being delayed until next assembly session.

Reportedly, earlier Government demanded four weeks of time for placing the report but court has extended it to 6 weeks and has set the deadline till February 29 covering a total duration of six weeks and again the PP has asked for time till next assembly session.

Tripura High Court (HC) given the last date to publish the yusuf commission report on the then state health minister Bimal Sinha murder case by February 29 but the state government once again delayed it by few more months.

The report of the Yusuf commission was not made public by the state government yet today even after the passage of 15 years from the day the commission had submitted the report before the state home department. Sinha and his younger brother Bidyut Sinha were gunned down by the militants of the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) on March 31, 1998.

Tripura High Court prepares to hear the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a state social activist Kalyani Roy also an advocate over government’s failure towards publishing the Yusuf Commission report on the then state health minister Bimal Sinha murder case.

The Yusuf commission was constituted by the state Left front government under the pressure of the opposition party had submitted the report on Bimal Sinha murder case during the year 2000, but the government had so far failed to publish the report.
