Kamalpur: Ambassa minor girl rape case: Court sent the accused to 20 years’ imprisonment

KAMALPUR, Feb 26 (TIWN): In the sensational minor tribal girl rape case at Mosimog para under Ambassa police station, the Special Court sent the two accused to 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment here today. The Court also fined an amount of 10, 000 rupees and if not paid, the accused had to undergo another six months’ imprisonment.

According to the case diary, the incident took place in the jungle of Mosimog para on 18th September, 2014 around 4 pm. After watching television at her grandpa’s house, the minor girl of Sunil Debbarma of 11 years of age, was heading towards her home. Then two youths of Charankanta para namely Managl Debbarma (28) and Falakatar Debbarma (26), under the Ambassa police station stopped her way. They forcibly took her to the nearby jungle and raped her.

Then she somehow reached home and informed her parents about the torture. Then her parents informed the local panchayat about the incident and sought remedy. But, the panchayat failed to do anything. Then, on 24th September, 2014 a case was filed with Ambassa police station. Ambassa police registered a case numbered 48/2014 under section 376(D) of IPC and 06 of POCSO Act. After completion of investigation, the investigating officer SI Mukta Ghosh submitted the case diary to the Court. After hearing 15 witnesses, the Special Court announced its final verdict today.  

The Court sent Managal and Falakatar to 20 years rigorous imprisonment and also fined an amount of 10, 000 rupees. If they failed to pay the fine then, they should perish another six months’ rigorous imprisonment. Special PP Tamal Barman conducted the case in favor of the victim.
