North East connectivity, Interlinking ports priority in Rail budget : Rail budget Recorded 44 new projects, covering 5,300 km to develop backward states

AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN) : It was a time, when Tripura's people didn’t bother to think about the rail-budget of India, as Tripura had no proper railway connectivity with the rest of the country. However, after BG Railway line in Tripura, people focused their eyes on rail budget 2016 and the main interest is the fare of the rail and North-East rail connectivity with rest of India. Modi Govt. has already pushed development in North east zone and now Mizoram and Manipur to be brought under broad gauge soon, according to Suresh Prabhu.Prabhu in the presence of Prime Minister Modi said that Govt.’s aim is to “Connect whole India with Rail-lines, so Govt. will focus on the connectivity of all the undeveloped states, amongst which NE zone is giving the highest priority.“I'm happy to announce that action has been initiated on 139 budget announcements made last year. Port connectivity and North East connectivity will be priority in this budget. Mizoram and Manipur to be brought under broad gauge soon”, Prabhu announced.The budget presented in parliament by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu it has been said, “Transparency is an important tenant of govt” and “Focus is now in commissioning. He also said, “Our mission is to ensure 100% transparency. Social media is also being used as a tool to bring transparency”. 2000 km electrification is proposed for next year and Govt. will must build more freight corridors. 2,800 km new tracks planning are also in new budget.

It’s to be mentioned here that LIC to has invested 1.5 lakh crores to fund railway project.

Prabhu claimed that the present Govt. has maintained the cleanliness of rail-lines and platforms and presently there is no difference between railway passengers and high profile people.  Rs. 8.5 lakh crore to be spent over 5 years for modernization of railway infrastructure.

The other points which were said were: 1. More dedicated freight corridors to accommodate the increased demand in freight transport, 2.To generate revenues to the order of Rs 1,84,820 crores, 3. Co-operation, collaboration and communication, are the hallmarks of Indian Railways's journey forward, 4 For year 2016-17 Govt. expect the operating ratio of 92%

He thanked all including the donators and the state govt. for co-operation and patience for staying in the long run.Rail Budget 2016 is a story of transformation. We need to re-organize & rejuvenate the Indian Railways”, says Suresh Prabhu.
