Village Committee election: Section 144 imposed in various village areas

AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the upcoming counting process of the Village Committee election on February 27, District Magistrate of the Gomati District has directed some rules over the public and vehicles.

Reportedly, the motor vehicles act 1988 of 115 clause and CPC 144 clause of 1973 act from morning 6 am till the ending of the counting procedure the law will be activate.

According to the direction, on the day of the counting till two hundred metre from the centre common mass will not be allowed to assemble in the area.

Besides, if there is any emergency than the concern individual had to take prior permission.

The initiatives has been taken keeping in mind the security and safety of the common mass.

It is to be mentioned here that this rules will not be applicable for the police, security forces and the employee who are associated with the Government work.

Besides, the locals who are residing within the two hundred metre of the area from the counting centre for them also the rules are not applicable.

Detailing about the centre where the rules will be applicable, they are Amarpur Higher Secondary School, Ampinagar BAC hall Block Head Quarters, BAC hall near Korbook Panjihum Higher Secondary School, Shilcherri Higher Secondary School, Computer centre of Killa Block buildings, Kakrabon Block office house, Matabari Panchayat Samiti Hall and Matabari Block area.

It is to be mentioned here that along with village areas of the Gomati District, security beefed up at every strong rooms in all the village committees.

Strict vigilance has been witnessed in front of the strong rooms. However, it is to be mentioned here that a total of 85 percent turnout has been recorded in the village committee election held on February 24.

It is to be mentioned here that the last date for filling the nomination for the village committee election was on February 5 and the date for the scrutiny of the nomination was on February 6.

Besides, it has been mentioned that the last date for the withdrawal of the nomination paper was on February 8.

However, all the political parties are waiting for the result. Besides, every political parties are hoping to grab the seats at the election.
