AGARTALA, Feb 25 (TIWN) : Although during the morning time, when the vehicles movements remains high on the NH-44 roadway in Agartala, no traffic police is found to control the traffic jams at there.
Then the construction workers are bound to control the work as well the traffic movements at Bardowali area in absense of any AMC or Police authorities.
It’s to be mentioned here that in Tripura, before 8 am no traffic police comes for duty, although vehicle movements continue over NH-44 in full pace.
Presently at Bordowali area, where the flyover is supposed to be ended, on that ending-zone the mud-filling work is going on.
The road however, on the both side of the flyover construction place is broken and very narrow, which not only causes traffic jam, but increases the chances of accidents at there.
Hardly any traffic police are found in that area to control jams.
Moreover, due to the pressure on the narrow road-way, the road itself is worsening day by day.
Talking to the field workers they said that the mud filling work is going on presently and it will be continue for few more days. “The work will go smoothly, if rain doesn’t disrupt”, they said.
However, it’s important to note that with the arrival of rains, the area already have started to become worse.
Recently, the authority of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) issued notice to almost all residents and shop keepers to give up 9 feet land to undertake fly over project. However, they are reluctant to give up required land citing on the ground that they had already given the land twice.
As a result, traffic movements are interrupting hugely on NH-44 due to the flyover construction and the narrow roads, beside the flyover construction work is increasing the risks of passengers.
