AGARTALA, Feb 24 (TIWN) : A 15 minute’s storm caused massive losses at different parts of Teliamura and parts of Khowai district. Reportedly, at Tuesday midnight suddenly tornado type of strom arrived which damaged crop fields, School buildings and houses. Atleast 80 families at Manipuri Basti area have been affected.
Panic has gripped Khowai District due to the huge losses resulted out of rain and sudden storm.
Atleast 25 houses have been ruined at Manipuri Basti after storm hit at Khowai District.
Vegetable fields have been damaged at a large, as a result of which farmers are presently undergoing massive losses.
Apart from that, school buildings, Anganwadi Centre and offices have been damaged so far in that few minute’s storm.Reportedly, the tornado aroused from high wind and chances have remained for more disastrous in coming days.

People ran out of homes to save lives as 12 people are injured due to storm but no death reported yet.
Victims demanding Govt. help and according to the locals, lakhs of rupees are under loss at that Manipuri Slum area.
The devastating storm was totally unexpected, although during the last couple of days slight rain was there. Electrical posts are left damaged and risks have increased for that.
It’s to be mentioned here that the heavy rain also washed away the hopes of poor villagers of that area as it left many farmers’ cultivated land damaged.
Agricultural fields have gone under water at there. Many huts, shops and trees are also collapsed.
While talking to TIWN correspondent, a farmer said that they did not have any idea that such sudden heavy strom and rains can occur during February.
TIWN correspondent visited affected Villages, poor farmers were found busy collecting few left over vegetables from fields.
