AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): With the initiative of Narendra Modi led BJP government at the Centre,, Tripura has finally enrolled its name in the BG (Broad Gauge)railway map of the country. It is only BJP who brought the first BG train into the state paving its way to the true sense of development in the state. Talking to TIWN correspondent, BJP state president Biplab Deb said the entire NE has seen development today in true sense. It’s BJP who has given their true effort to bring development into the state.Other than making false promises on development LF has not done anything for the state. It is quite evident from the fact that BJP has made the impossible thing possible and without any faults the train has paved its way to the state before the deadline, added Deb. LF front never wanted any development in the state and this is the reason why it took so many years to get the railway service in the state, said Deb. Over the years LF has only learnt to take false credits without doing any work. Today is an important occasion in the history of the railways. A state in India is linked with the railways. It is believed that North-eastern part of the house must be proper then things will be good at home. 'If we take good care of the Northeast, the entire India will move ahead' said Biplab Deb.

It is to be mentioned here that after waiting for prolonged hours, finally the first commercial BG freight train chugged into the Jirania station with goods on Monday afternoon. Transport Minister Manik Dey, Transport Secretary Samarjit Bhowmik, NFR GM HK Jaggi along with other dignitaries’ received the train at Jirania station.

Thousands of people gathered at Jirania station to see their dream come true. The train was received with cheers and enthusiasm from the common people and railway authority.

However, NFR has been developing railway infrastructures in ten states including, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim, parts of West Bengal and Bihar.

Almost all the work of track laying is completed and the BG passengers train service will start as soon as possible after clearance from Commission of Railway Safety, mainly known as CRS. However, the inspection will be done before March to smoothly run the BG passengers train in the state in the given deadline.

NFR is all set to conduct the CRS inspection to ensure safety of the track which is newly converted from Metre gauge to Broad gauge.

It is to be mentioned here that the newly converted BG rail track of two sections- Badarpur to Kumarghat and Kumarghat to Agartala would undergo CRS inspection by the end of February or early March, as claimed by the sources.

Now, the NFR authority is carrying out finishing works in two sections- Badarpur to Kumarghat and Kumarghat to Agartala to pave the way for running commercial passenger train service.
