AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): Tripura High Court on Tuesday instructed the Agartala Municipal Corporation to take strict action against owners of the multi-storey buildings which has been illegally constructed in the city.
According to the reports, Tripura High Court has instructed the Agartala Municipal Corporation to take necessary steps accordingly for the rectification of the illegally constructed buildings in the city under AMC by the month of June.
It has been mentioned here that these building are not constructed as per the planning of the AMC therefore the Tripura HC has instructed to take strict initiatives against the building owners.
It is to be mentioned here that last year Tripura High Courts had directed the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) engineer and the Fire Service Director to submit an affidavit mentioning the role played against the shopping malls for building multi-storied buildings without proper facilities.
As the shopping malls built here in the city has no underground parking facility not even a proper one at the ground level.
The malls also lacks ramp facilities, fire protection facilities, lack of emergency exit doors inside the malls and other basic facilities which needs to be provided to the customers.
Besides, the AMC authority and the Fire Service authority has asked to submit how and based on what the authority has permitted the building owners to construct the buildings.
It is to be mentioned here that on November 24 DM West Millind Ramteke along with other officials visited the 10 other multi storied building in the Agartala city.
However, as a part of the visit, Ramteke has inspected all kinds of facilities available in the banks, market complex, ILS hospital and many other buildings.
During his visit, DM Ramteke along with other officials ensured whether the buildings have the proper place for parking or not, does it have the proper emergency exit, ramp for the disabled people, appropriate electricity and water supply, facility of lift and fire lift, proper instalment of CCTV camera, the entry and exit doors, and whether resting place for the consumers available or not.
Further, it was also examined how much of land have the building occupied, is it as per the documentation of the papers, how much storey is the mall; is it under safety prone measures, what is the height of the mall, what are departmental stores in the mall and does it have all the safety measures available in the mall for the consumer satisfaction.
However, expressing dissatisfaction over the role of the Agartala Municipal Corporation, Tripura High Court on Tuesday directed the AMC to take strict action against the owners of the building which has been constructed illegally.
Besides, the court also directed to complete the process by the month of June.
