AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): Ministerial Authority where never gets tired of claiming development in the state and assures to work according to the interest of the people before every election, several villages are suffering due to lack of facility of safe drinking water.

Reportedly, several interior parts of the State are facing acute water crisis under the Manik’s regime. Though demands were placed to the authority take initiatives to solve the issue but yet the people had to walk miles to fetch water.

People residing in the interior parts of the State are mostly dependent over the tub well water or the water of the stream.

On the other hand, in many villages the tube wells are not working properly and the people had to depend on stream water where mosquito breed and as it is in open area it carries various water born diseases.

Therefore, several families had to sufferer from water born disease, many even dies due to the disease.

Reportedly, people of the interior parts of the State had to walk several kilometres just to fetch a bucket of water. As one bucket of water is not enough for the whole family the people had to cover long distance for many time.

The so-called political parties never gets time to visit the area and to take notice of the issue but just before the election the party members throngs in to the villages claiming this time if they wins the election they will develop the area but in reality the leaders don’t even peep in to the area.

The problem of water scarcity is a growing one in the rural Tripura, and the areas under the Dhalai District like Govindabari, the areas under the Longthorai Valley, Jampuijala, Takarjala, Manikpur, NarayansinghRuazapara and other tribal dominated areas are lacking pure and safe drinking water.

It is to be mentioned here that it is not the money that prevents state government focusing on supply of drinking water but lack of interest and infrastructure.

However, until and unless the State Government does not take any strict initiatives for these areas the people had to suffer further and had to die suffering from acute water crisis and water borne disease.
