AGARTALA, Feb 23 (TIWN): Despite of passage of several days of the issue of the sudden impose hydro testing for the CNG vehicles, yet the vehicle owners are stuck with the testing and less number of autos has been observed.

Reportedly, with the sudden impose of hydro-testing for the CNG vehicle has triggered panic among the drivers. Resulting, the number of autos plying on the road has also fall down.

Even after passage of several days, several vehicle riders are yet to ply their vehicles on road for business, as they had to wait for the testing.

On the other hand there are many owners who are unable to afford the hydro testing at one go.

It is to be mentioned here that resentment brewed up among the CNG vehicle drivers at TRTC CNG station on February 1 as the vehicles without hydro testing is not allowed to get any CNG refills at the pump.

However, Tripura Natural Gas and Company Limited (TNGCL) has recently issued directives making hydro – testing mandatory for every CNG vehicles.

It is to be mentioned here that from now on hydro – testing is mandatory once in a three years which cost around Rs. 2000.

As per the Gas Cylinder Rule of Indian Standard Bureau, 2004, hydro-testing of the cylinders is mandatory.

The increasing city gas distribution has led to increase in the number of CNG vehicles in the country. Natural gas has always been looked upon as the most efficient, economical and safe fuel available to humankind.

However, making the hydro testing mandatory has irks the smooth movement of vehicles.
