AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): Ruling Government where clamours that Tripura is growing faster than any other state, health service of the State is running paralysed for prolonged several years.

According to the sources reports, State’s most talked referral hospital GBP has been facing terrible condition due to lack of beds. Patients admitted from the far flung of the State had to take treatment on the floor by spreading a bed sheet on the floor.

The floor of the hospital is scattered with patients leave some space for the others to walk. In hospital where people expects about maintaining hygiene and patients are treated in a clean and dirt free environment, several patients in Tripura are getting treatment over floor where they are surrounded with dirt.

It so happens that some people unknowingly steps over the things of the patients which creates problem for the patients as well as the patient families.

Sources stated that around 900 beds are there in the hospital but unable to meet the need of the beds for the patients lying on the floor.

Now the question arises, where the ruling Government can spend huge amount for the election campaign, why no initiatives has been taken to solve the lack of bed issue.

Most of the health centres in the State are running lack of adequate number of doctors and nurses. Besides, the patients are also suffering from lack of beds and insufficient infrastructure.

Allegation has been raised that despite of emergency the patient party of the hospital never finds doctors in time. Besides, most of the time the junior doctors arrive to see the patients.

On the other hand, many sanctioned posts are laying vacant thus rendering costly medical infrastructure created at these health institutions remains useless because they lack specialists to operate them. The doctors prefer lucrative urban postings rather than serving at a PHC.

Sources revealed that the patient party had to carry the patients on their own over the stretcher even a word boy remains unavailable during the need.

However, where the ruling Government clamours about development of the State, several PHC and CHC are running deplorable in the state.
