Campaigning for Village Committee Election on peak

AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): With just counting days are left for the upcoming village committee election with an aim to grab seats, all the political parties are campaigning in full swing.

Political parties are busy in holding mass rallies covering all the voting areas, door to door campaign. Besides, political leaders also address the common mass to gain more votes of in the ensuing election.

Even Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has visited various areas with the purpose to manipulate the people to cast vote for left front Government.

Claiming to serve the interest of the people, the leaders and the candidates urges the common people to vote for the concern party.

According to the reports, the total number of electors of all the 2634 constituencies are 7, 68, 404 which includes 3,89,292 Male and 3, 79,112 Female.

However, it has been mentioned that there are 587 numbers of village committees for eight districts and 1451 polling stations will be set up for the upcoming village committee election.

According to the reports, altogether 160 polling stations will be set up for 60 number of village committee at North District, 92 Polling Stations for 32 number of village committee at Dhalai District, 155 polling stations for 69 number of village committee at Khowai District, 198 polling stations for 85 number of village committee at West District.

Besides, a total of 141 polling stations for 58 number of village committee at Sepahijala District, 243 polling stations for 103 number of village committee at Gomati District and 166 polling stations for 70 number of village committee at South District.

It has been reported that altogether in five villages of the Mohanbhog Block under ADC a total of 6, 961 voters are listed over the seats of 41. Besides, there will be fourteen polling stations.

However, recently the campaigning has increased as only counting days are left for the election which is scheduled to start on February 24.
