KAMALPUR, Feb 17 (TIWN): Kamalpur police got a great success against the illegal trade of contraband and psychotropic substances yesterday. Police nabbed a cannabis dealer with 15 kg of cannabis from a vehicle heading towards Halhali from Kamalpur last evening. Now police would produce the dealer with seized goods before the Court today.

According to the police, the raid was conducted acting on a tip-off. OC Swapan Dasgupta and other officers got information last evening that, a dealer with huge quantity of cannabis lodged on a commander bearing number TR-04-2185 from Manikbhander. The commander with passengers was heading towards Halhali.

Receiving the information, cops led by OC rushed to the Erarpar chowmuhani and stopped the commander there. From the commander the police interrogate one Bhanu Sarkar (23) of Kalamcharra under Kalamchoura police station of Sepahijala district. From his bags and baggage huge quantity of cannabis got recovered. The police got the quantity of cannabis as 15 kg which has a market price of approximately 3, 00, 000 of rupees.

Police booked a case and would produce the dealer with the seized goods before the Court on Wednesday.
