AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): Finally after a long wait, renovation work of National Highway at the Churaibari to Lowerpoa part has begun and is going on in full fledged manner.Talking to TIWN correspondent on Tuesday, Executive Engineer of PWD of NH44 division, Karimganj said that the renovation work of the lowerpoa Churaibari part National Highway is underway in full swing.Besides, he also mentioned that the construction work is expected to get complete by the month of March.On the other hand, in order to curb down the prolonged harassment of the commuters the construction of the roads from Assam Meghalaya border to Badarpur has also begun.With the completion of the work, the commuter using the by-road facility will get relief from the deplorable condition of the road.On the other hand, the agency can complete the work easily without any interruption as it is the dry season.

However, after huge doldrums regarding the poor condition of the National Highway especially from Lowerpoa to Churaibari, the Assam government has finally taken the initiative to look into the matter.

It is to be mentioned here that the condition of the road from Lowerpoa upto Assam gate Churaibari has been so poor that the anytime the communication between Assam and Tripura may halt.

However, the construction work of the National Highway till Churaibari is completed and maintenance work is going on.

The condition of these stretches of the highways has become so bad that in some patches these have turned into virtual craters. In fact, the deplorable condition of these national highways has led to resentment amongst local people, with the demand for their maintenance growing and intensifying.

The condition of the NH44 has changed from bad to worse due to the lack of maintenance of the road.

However, if the road is not repaired in the dry season the road will be left totally paralysed in the coming days, as a result the vehicles have to travel through such terrible route.

However, with the renovation of the National Highway the people who travel through this route will find relax during the journey. The commuters do not have to face harassment while crossing the route.
