AGARTALA, Feb 13 (TIWN): Despite of several tall claims by the Agartala Municipal Corporation to keep the city clean, after asking for several times also the outlets are not cleaned.

Reportedly, the outlets of the Barjala Mohan club area in poor condition for prolonged many years but no initiatives have been taken yet.

Although the problem has turned acute every passing years, the corporation has been unable to find a solution.

However, though the locals sometime with their own initiatives takes up the annual exercise of cleaning up the drain. But still the problem is not yet solved.

According to the locals, the AMC workers collect the garbage from road sides but do not take initiative to clean the outlets which is creating problems for the residences.

We have asked for several times to clean up the outlets but till day no initiatives has been taken.

On the other hand, during the monsoon season the water gets over flowed from the drain leading harassment for the people. The drain water enters in to the houses creating a pathetic situation in the area.

 The locals claimed that heaps of waste in public places and lack of timely cleaning of the drains is creating health problems for the residents.

Besides, the locals also mentioned that they tax for the maintenance of drains and the area but what is the use of it when officials are careless when it comes to cleaning them.

However, the locals claimed that if the corporation would have cleaned the outlets on time then the locals would not have to face any kind of harassment.
